Silk-screened designs have brighter colors and are more durable. The cost per shirt can be fairly high on small orders but very low on larger orders. This is because there is a set-up fee of between $25 and $40 for each color of ink to cover the cost of making a screen for each color and setting up the screens for printing. For example, to print 6 shirts with a one color design it would cost about $20 per shirt. The same design printed in a quantity of 60 shirts would drop the price to about $6.00 per shirt. If you add a second color it would cost about as $25 per shirt for a quantity of 6 and about $6.60 per shirt for a quantity of 60. (See Price List). Graphic transfers, on the other hand, can cost as little as $10.00 for a single shirt and there is no limit to number of colors. We can use a photo or any kind of graphic image. However, there is very little price reduction for larger quantities. This is because there is no set-up fee. Each design is printed with special ink or on special paper and then heat transferred to the t-shirt. The cost increases if the design is larger than 8" by 10" and the maximun print size is 10" by 16". We only use high quality name brand shirts. We will print on 100% cotton or 50/50 cotton/polyester shirts. We recommend the 50/50 shirts because there is little on no shrinkage. If you accidentally put a cotton shirt in a hot dryer, the design can be ruined if the shirt shrinks because the design does not. |
